Movie Review! The Imitation Game.

'Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine'

The Imitation Game (2014) PosterHi everyone!

I wanted to do a review today of a movie I watched when staying at my aunties last week, The Imitation Game.

It's based on the life of Alan Turing, more on him later. To start with, it's quite hard to understand, but as you get further into the movie it becomes more obvious about the little quirks of Turing, played by the incredible Benedict Cumberbatch, and why he calls his machine, Christopher. Cumberbatch's portrayal of Turing moved me to tears towards the end of the movie.

Alan Turing was a British pioneer in computer science, mathematics, and many other things including long distance running. He is widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. During the Second World War, he worked for the Government Code and Cypher School, at Bletchley Park. He and the team he worked with eventually cracked the German Enigma Code, which would be reset at 12 midnight every day to avoid cracking. Though they could never use it to help save people, 'Hardest time to lie to someone is when they are expecting to be lied to.'

An all star cast including Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, and Charles Dance, The Imitation Game is a must watch. 10/10 would watch again.

Seriously though, I cannot imagine how hard it would have been for Benedict to portray Turing, especially towards the end of the movie. I wont give anymore spoilers, youll have to watch to find out.

I would reccommend this movie, and would definitely watch it again.

All my love, Em xxx
